After an exhaustive and comprehensive process, Cardinal McCloskey Community Services submitted our Charter School application to SUNY for their review.
The application included a full business plan, staffing, timelines, details on curriculum, grade and school enrollment goals, acceptance criteria, community outreach, budgeting, financial support and incorporating our Sanctuary Model of care that reflects the safety and care and attention focused on the needs of at-risk students and their families.
SUNY’s response was very positive to the proposed model of our Charter School. SUNY noted the unique nature of our proposal and the need for a Charter school that addresses at-risk children and the concept of wraparound services provided to children on-site, at the school.
As this is a new concept presented to SUNY for review, SUNY requested that we re-submit our application and provide additional detail, providing more specifics in terms of our Sanctuary model and curriculum specifically as it pertains to at-risk children.
The next application date is tentatively scheduled for March of 2017.
As we refine our application we will again be reaching out to you to provide you with additional information and gather more feedback and input from the community as we work to shape this school to best meet the needs of your children.
We will be sending out notices of community meetings and posting updates on our website, CMCSCharter.org. If you have questions please contact us at 718-402-0081, Ext. 227 or email us at info@CMCSCharter.org
